On-Campus Fellowship Opportunities

CWS Fellows Program through the  Center for Writing and Scholarship  (CWS) consists of a year-long tutoring fellowship designed to prepare the next generation of college instructors to work with students on academic writing.

Integral Teaching Fellowship (ITF) Program  offers CIIS graduate students an opportunity to prepare for teaching at the college level during a semester-long training program.

In addition, there is a small number of teaching and research assistantships available each year in different academic programs at CIIS.

Teaching assistantships provide an opportunity for students to gain related experience under the guidance of faculty mentors. The teaching assistant must complete a contract for every class they assist to receive payment for their work.

Research assistantships provide an opportunity for students to acquire experience in diverse areas of research and writing projects. The research assistant must complete a contract per semester or per year, depending on the length of the appointment. The research assistant may work only up to five hours per week.

Off-Campus Fellowship Opportunities
Residency In Social Enterprise (RISE) Fellowship is a program of the New Sector Alliance. Fellowship programs bring together talented and highly-motivated emerging leaders who are committed to social impact careers.  During their fellowships, they serve full-time to strengthen host site organizations in the Boston, Chicago, San Francisco Bay, and the Twin Cities areas while engaging in professional development to build their skills for long-term social sector careers.

Critical Language Scholarship Program is part of a U.S. government effort to dramatically expand the number of Americans studying and mastering critical foreign languages.

Boren Fellowships provide up to $30,000 to U.S. graduate students to add an important international and language component to their graduate education through specialization in area study, language study, or increased language proficiency.

Echoing Green’s Fellowship Program will offer more than $3.8 million in seed-stage funding and support this year to emerging leaders working to bring about positive social change. From thousands of applicants, only about 1% are ultimately awarded a Fellowship.

National Urban Fellows’ Academic & Leadership Development Fellowship Program is a rigorous, 14-month, full-time graduate degree program comprising four semesters of academic course work and a nine-month Mentorship assignment. During their Mentorship, Fellows complete course work via distance learning. Fellows receive a $25,000 stipend, health insurance, a book allowance, relocation and travel reimbursement, full payment of tuition, and professional leadership development. Additionally, Fellows are required to make a $7,500 co-investment to their National Urban Fellows experience.  The program culminates in a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the City of New York's Bernard M. Baruch College, School of Public Affairs. An MPA degree is awarded to Fellows upon completion of all academic and program requirements.
The Data Incubator  is a 6-week fellowship training that places data scientists and quants with advanced degrees.
